Maths Leaders Awards 2017

Sports Leaders UK equips young people with employability skills for life; improving motivation, self- esteem, communication, team work and confidence. Leadership volunteering is a vital part of all our courses allowing young people to practice and build their skills in order to improve employability.

The Maths Leader Award teaches young people how to lead others through basic maths activities by working to develop their communication, organisation and motivational skills.

William Morris Sixth Form’s Mathematics department has been piloting this scheme over the last few months with some of its top mathematics students, and it has been a huge success.

We were very proud to award the following students with their Maths Leaders certificates on Wednesday, presented by Matthew our Principal and overseen by our Senior Tutor Anthony and the scheme’s ambassador, Gabrielle.

Arman, Desiree, Eszter, Kyriaki, Lucy, Maria, Samantha and Zachary all received their certificates on Wednesday 10th May.

The students who also were awarded this qualification however were unable to attend the event were: Ahmad Khalaf, Denisa Coka and Georgie Champion.

A big round of applause goes to Gabrielle who organised the scheme to be run in our Sixth Form, and has equipped our students with leadership skills that will be hugely beneficial in their future education and careers.
